We have an important shipping update to share with you. We are making significant progress in moving forward with the shipping process, although we have encountered some technical difficulties along the way. Allow us to provide you with a brief summary and a more detailed explanation below.

Summary: We are nearing the completion of shipping preparations. To ensure cost savings on shipping for all of you, we are exporting the Kickstarter database and importing it into EasyShip software. This will enable us to obtain accurate quotes for shipping to the 39 countries involved in the fulfillment process.

Detailed Explanation: The complexities involved in this process are worth noting. EasyShip requires information about the weight of the product, box sizes, and weights. They calculate shipping costs based on volumetric and actual weight, and we need to obtain quotes for all the different combinations and permutations of orders for each of the 39 countries.

Additionally, we encountered challenges due to different standards between BackerKit and EasyShip. For example, BackerKit measures orders by the number of units, while EasyShip prefers to know the number of individual items. These differences have added to the complexity.

We understand now why it is often recommended to limit a Kickstarter campaign to one or two countries. The intricacies involved in handling multiple countries, combinations of orders, and varied shipping prices have been a valuable learning experience for us.
